LG has announced its latest LCD HDTV, the SL8000 Borderless, in Russia. TV’s without borders. That’s what I’m talking about. Unlike conventional LCD TVs, the SL8000 has a unique single-layer screen, with the TV screen and frame in one piece, which makes it borderless.

This HDTV also features 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 150,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 2ms response time. You’ll also get LG’s TruMotion 200GHz which reduces the blur of moving objects, Smart Energy Saving Plus for reducing electricity consumption and Intelligent Sensor for automatically adjusting the image and the intensity of the backlight under different lighting conditions.

The SL8000 is available in Russia for 61,990 rubles (about $2,113) for the 42-inch model. No word on whether we will see it elsewhere.

LG just unveiled its first small desktop computer dubbed the XPION X30. It’s powered by the NVIDIA ION graphics chipset which can easily handle HD video playback as well as graphically demanding applications, even running on an Intel Atom 230 1.6GHz processor.

Along for the ride are 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It’s powered by Windows Vista, but will likely come with Windows 7 very shortly. No word on price just yet. The name, XPION suggests that it would run XP, which is strange. We suspect that there may be another version of this one soon.

LG has just unveiled its latest notebook series called WIDEBOOK, which offers a cinematic 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. There will be five new models in all; the R580/R560, R480/R460 and R380. All are LED backlit and powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

The R580 and R560 feature a 15.6” display while the R480 and R460 units include a 14” screen and the smaller R380 sports a 13.3” panel. The R580 and R480 are the premium models, boasting stylish designs, while the R560 and R460 are for reliable everyday computing. They will be available later this month.

LG has announced its Design the Future competition winners, one of which was this Hi-Fi cellphone that also doubles as headphones. Supposedly when it’s folded up, it can fit into a slot in a laptop or your pocket. Unfold it and you have a fancy pair of stereo headphones.

Pretty nice. If this design concept ever finds its way to the real world, it could be a winner. LG could do itself a huge favor by thinking outside of the box and actually offering up some items like this one. We like it. Now it just needs to get real.

You can get this handset via Sprint for just $29.99 with a 2-year contract agreement (after a $50 mail-in rebate). As for specs, don’t expect anything powerful. Don’t even expect it to stand out from any crowd. It boasts a 1.33 x 1.77 inch QVGA TFT screen, a 1.3MP camera with 2x digital zoom, GPS (Sprint Navigation), Picture Messaging, Bluetooth, NFL Mobile Live, a 2.5mm headset jack and a 950 mAh battery for up to 6 hours of talk time.

Here’s a very legit looking promo video for the company’s new Chocolate. It looks pretty awesome. Apparently the rumored 21:9 800 x 345 display is real. There’s also a nice Flash-based 3D UI, multitouch, AGPS, WiFi, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and a scratch-proof glass screen.
